The scents of wild herbs hit your throat, heady in the warm summer breeze cascading from the mountain ridges where birds nestle by thousands, while bougainvillea buds spread wide and sumptuous on the walls across the entire stone hamlet of Tohni. It was this kind of organic beauty my beautiful couple Paola & Christophe had their hearts set on when deciding to have their fresh countryside wedding in Cyprus. This would be the second time for the two, as they had already tied the knot a few months ago in France where Paola is descended from. Having your favorite people with you in such a beautiful destination has a special feel, no doubt, as this little gem near Larnaka, and one of the oldest villages on the isle is a true architectural wonder. I loved how the couple’s entire celebration was centered around bonds, and gifts of life which were no other than great company, organic decor (the bride’s bouquet and floral arrangements were made of primroses, straw, maize, sage and rosemary picked from the village) simple joys, delicious food, dancing, laughing and loving hard. Perhaps I’d be remiss not to speak of Paola’s gorgeous Maggie Sottero dress and Le Chateau bridal pumps, the couple’s unique French air and gentle style, but what I saw in them and their families was so much more. I saw pure, delicious happiness, I saw giggles and embraces, hearts that danced and souls that soared, and that, beyond any doubt, is unbeatable!
